Novara Crescent

Novara Crescent was quite simply a logistical nightmare when we first looked at the project, placed on the hills of Como on a busy road. This Duplex was a challenge we just couldn't say no to, originally designed to use a concrete and masonry construction method when we were first contacted, with some headaches due to the start of covid and the price increases at the time, we worked with designer and engineers to redesign the build methods to include mostly lightweight materials using steel and timber construction saved our clients hundreds of thousands of dollars!

This duplex became a torrens title system, separating the original block into 3 seperate blocks to include the existing original house with its own access through a rear laneway. New section 73 major plumbing works was installed to feed from the 3 properties, under a shared driveway.

With one 3 bedroom home and a 4 bedroom home this duplex was created to blend into the natural bushlands without hindering the huge gumtrees living on the block first. Using a mixture of Weathertex cladding materials we let the natural cladding grey off to blend into the surrounds. Designed by Peter Connor designs.
