This home became a milestone for Dan and saw the start of My Thred Built, previously working on our clients last 2 homes while working for his father, Dan was keen to take this project on. As this house was originally purchased as the "Lantern house" featured in the top 100 houses in the world, after about 20 years it was time for a total refit, and turn this house into a beautiful hamptons style home for the family to enjoy for a lifetime. With a phone full of inspirational photos of hamptons style, we worked closely with the architect, client, and interior designer to come up with the home you see now.
The build it self included extensive structural works which was a real feat of engineering, which included holding up 3 storeys of concrete house to remove structural walls and install massive steel beams to give the home an open plan living space on the ground floor, which includes dining, kitchen, butlers pantry and a sports bar for the greatest of sports fans, a wine cellar and the internal lift that took you up to the groundfloor which includes three bedrooms and a study overlooking the gorgeous Gunnamatta bay. The top floor held a parents retreat like no other, with a main bedroom, walk-in robe the size of a large single car garage and a breakout space to put your feet up.
With an enormous balcony that looked over the whole property and the Port Hacking River. This home has little details we created with the clients at every little corner.
